This home gym has it all for me. I can work on toning and building muscle in my arms and legs as well as trying to shrink my waist. Its very easy for me to go from toning my arms straight into crunches. The setup was very easy for me as well as the instruction book of different positions for building muscle.

The whole machine is a great concept. I use it for weight loss and cardio (50 years old with 2 heart stents). Still trying to find my abs. I know they are there and will show up soon. Hope to see all the new muscles use up the fat stores.

I suggest you change the cable loops to a larger size or change the quick clips toa smaller size. It gets tiring trying to get the clips to slide out of the cable loops without snagging.

First exercise machine I have ever owned. Set-up only took two hours. Seems to be an ideal machine for beginner weight training. Changing weight resistance and adjusting cables for various exercises takes some getting used to.

this product is awesome. it's the most basic in the whole of bowflex's lineup but the results that i've gotten in less than 2 weeks is just tremendous. i'm not a worker-outer in the first place, but it really helps my motivation when i don't have to go to the gym to work out; i have one in my living room. this is an awesome product and i would recommend it to anyone who is interested in working out, but who's still an amateur and who doesn't have time to drive back and forth to a gym, and also for those (like me) who enjoy working out in the comfort and privacy of my own home.

Got this home gym because I don't have the time to go to a reg gym. The weight rating is adequate if u know how to use the machine. I'm 6'2" and 188lbs. This machine is perfect for me. Built sturdy and folds upright so u can just push it out of the way. For the price you can't beat it. You can upgrade the power rods. You just gotta replace lower rated rods with higher ones. You can do alot of excersises. I figured out 5 new ones not even mentioned in the user book. If you want to be a professional bodybuilder than it's not for you. If you want the nice lean sculpted look than it's perfect

Overall, a great product. I did add a couple of extra holes in the horiz base to allow me to change the angle of the bench. Since I had back surgery it was difficult to do sit ups and restrengthen my stomach muscles. Using the different angles that I added to the bench allowed me to increase my stomach muscles by letting me do sit ups and angles that I was able to actually do the situps. Not to bad for a 75 year old...

Keep in mind that when you use it, you will need more space side-to-side! I underestimated how wide a space it needed and had to move the machine after it was set up so I had enough space to use it. Other than that, no problems setting it up, it's easy to use, and I'm already gaining muscle and losing fat!

My husband and I bought this online for a better price [...] after checking out a floor model at a local chain store. It wasn't difficult to put together, although it IS a two person job. It took maybe an hour and a half to set it up. It comes with a manual of exercises which is fairly easy to follow, and we've been doing the beginner routine now for about three weeks. It's a good workout. I'm usually sore afterward and now I can see a distinct difference in how toned my muscles are becoming, which is the result we bought it for. We aren't trying to do body building, and this wouldn't be the best machine for that, but for the price it delivers all that we were needing -- a good workout for general strength building and to keep from losing muscle as we age. I found the resistance works very smoothly and is ever so much nicer to move than weights. It just FEELS better to me while I'm working out. I don't dread the workouts like I probably would if it seemed more difficult. As others have noted, there's more resistance toward the end of a movement, so it's best to sit farther back on the seat to make sure you get a good amount of reistance during many of the exercises. The power rods are easy to change during the workout. The seat and all parts are sturdy and well-constructed. I am enjoying this piece of equipment and I'm so pleased that we went with this instead of the other weight-type home gyms we looked at. The bowflex workouts "feel" easy but the results are extremely satisfactory for somebody like me who wants to be fit and strong but not bulk up like a body-builder. It's great to have it right here at home and not have to dress and go somewhere else. Also, if I ever want to sell this piece of equipment to upgrade to something more powerful (like the Bowflex 3000, maybe???) then the BOWFLEX name should help with resale.

As a busy working mom time is priceless so heading out to the gym was always a challenge. With BowFlex I am able to work out while the family is still asleep without interruption. The equipment is quiet and there is smooth transition from one exercise to another (once I was able to create the routine that was best for me). The equipment is easy to put together, I did it myself and would not hesitate to re-purchase product.
